From the desk of Vincent J. Caputo, Esquire – October 15, 2024

Due to the extreme interest and false reports in this unfortunate incident, it is necessary to clear up false reports concerning this matter and my client, Jaki White Marshall.

At this time there have been numerous reports about this incident that are false. The first false report is that Jaki was part of a conspiracy to target a Coatesville Area High School student because of an altercation at the school. Jaki is not currently a student at the school, and he did not participate in any fights or threatening behavior due to this incident. Jaki was not part of any conspiracy to retaliate against anybody involved in any incidents at Coatesville Area High School because of an altercation at the school. Jaki is not a student at the school, and he did not participate in any fight or threatening behavior due to this incident. Jaki was not part of any conspiracy to retaliate against anybody involved in any incidents at Coatesville Area High School.

Jaki went to the scene of the incident because he had heard on social media that there was going to be a fight. Contrary to news reports and witness statements, there is direct evidence to show that Jaki arrived at the scene alone. The suspects in this crime did not arrive in the same vehicle. A witness at the scene initially told police that all four of the suspects arrived in the same vehicle, a white Toyota. This statement is false and there is evidence that shows this statement is false. The police relied on this statement to immediately focus on Jaki White-Marshall as a suspect in this crime. His arrest was predicated on a false eyewitness statement. False statements by eyewitnesses happen often and an eyewitness’s recollection of events is often mistaken. That is what happened here. The three perpetrators of this crime did not arrive with Jaki. The three perpetrators arrived in their own vehicle, which they parked around the corner out of sight. This is the same vehicle that was driven from the scene by the three suspects after the shooting.

Evidence will show that Jaki never had any communication concerning this shooting with the perpetrators of this crime before this event occurred. Jaki was merely present to watch a fight. He arrived at the scene alone because he had no plans to participate in any of the actions of the other three suspects. He was completely unaware that any of the suspects had brought a gun to the scene. He was completely unaware that a shooting was even possible due to the fact that he was only there to watch a fight. There has been a rush to judgment in this case concerning Jaki White-Marshall. Jaki was merely present to watch a fight he heard about on a social media website. He is innocent of each and every crime he has been charged with. We are asking for the public to withhold judgment of Jaki White-Marshall until the investigation is complete.
